In the past few days, the colloquium "Olivier Clément, a man in history" was held at the Paul Valery University in Montpellier, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his death. At the conference, Andrea Riccardi, who had been close to him through a profound friendship, spoke about his "Dialogues with Patriarch Athenagoras".
Andrea Riccardi then went to Saint-Gilles in Le Gard, the city that owes its name to the abbot Egidio, whose tomb is in the abbey of Sant'Egidio, which became an important pilgrimage site during the XII century. The Community of Sant'Egidio has taken its name from the church in Trastevere that was dedicated to him in 1630.
In the recently renovated crypt, Andrea Riccardi was able to halt before the Saint's tomb, which is still a place of devotion and prayer today.
