Andrea Riccardi’s visit to the homes for the psychiatrically ill, which the Community runs in Tirana (Albania), brings joy and even a bit of emotion to the patients. He was here just over a year ago, and his return is a celebration, especially for those individuals who, after years spent in anonymity and neglect, have found a new life in the "red houses". This occurred because they are nourished by the friendship and personal care of the Community's friends.
The celebration is even more beautiful because the "family" has expanded this time: there are also the guests of the new family home in Kavaje. Specifically, 6 women have been able to leave for a few months the psychiatric hospital in Elbasan and live in a beautiful little house, which is not far from Durres. Andrea Riccardi encouraged all those individuals in the family homes, who care for the most fragile, to strengthen this network of support and inclusion that represents a new model of care in Albania.
