Following the sad and violent death of Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, a 15 years old boy of the neighborhood in the Bronx where Sant’Egidio has been running the School of Peace, we gathered for a prayer vigil remembering him and all those who died in a violent way.
Lesandro’s family was there with many friends and the kids of the School of Peace. It was a moving moment to confirm our choice for peace and dialogue in the world but also in the neighborhood, indeed one of the most violent in the city. At the end of the service every one put a flower in front of the icon of Jesus’ face and we left each other with another appointment in August.
