A delegation of the Community of Sant'Egidio met the President of the Republic of Chad, Idriss Déby Itno. The meeting, which took place in a
climate of great cordiality, focused on the situation in the Central African Republic, and on the initiatives needed to put an end to the violence affecting the civilian population. The delegation of the Community presented on the central points of the recent peace agreement for the Central African Republic signed in Sant'Egidio, and the next implementation of some important measures for pacification, such as the establishment of a Committee for the application of the agreement comprising representatives of the signatory political-military groups as well as institutional representatives.
The contents of the meeting were warmly appreciated by President Deby, who encouraged the Community to continue its commitment to peace in Central African Republic.
