Overcoming indifference during blizzard in Washington DC

blankets, hot beverages, food, to support homeless

As a blizzard descended upon Washington DC on Friday evening and begun shutting down the city, students from Georgetown University and members of Sant'Egidio gathered for their regular weekly service of outreach to homeless men and women.
With the many warnings to shelter inside, the Community knew that many people who they meet around Dupont Circle and Union Station could not.  The sharing of soup, sandwiches, coffee, blankets, and warm words are concrete gestures of mercy and solidarity to overcome indifference and create a better city.
