As pilgrims from Africa, Asia, Latin America to the Fosse Ardeatine: the tragedy of war, faithful prayer and peace building

A silent and moving pilgrimage took place at the Fosse Ardeatine on Saturday 25th May with more than 100 representatives of Sant'Egidio in 39 different countries (Africa, Asia and Latin America) currently attending the international congress "Everything can change” in Rome. The Fosse Ardeatine Memorial is the place of the cruel massacre carried out by the Nazi occupation troops during the Second World War. After visiting the quarries where the victims of the massacre were conducted and killed, the long procession reached the shrine with the tombs. By laying down and a wreath in silence pilgrims remembered all the victims of war, violence, terrorism and racism .
