Cyclone Idai has left with destruction and pain in southern Malawi. Violent floods have dragged the poor village houses of the villages destroying everything they within them (clothes, food, kitchen equipment, blankets and in some cases animals).
In the area of Mulanje and Balaka, the Community has immediately started to rebuild roof tops of those houses where the elderly live - see images. Massive food distribution a starting the week, particularly in the area of Balaka, Mulanje, Chikwawa and Nsanje.
Yet, much more needs to be done. Please help Sant’Egidio to save lives in Malawi. Thank you.
