Every year, the Indonesian Ministry of Culture gives an award to those who have contributed to the promotion of the culture of the country in many respects.
This year, for the first time, the award has taken on an international dimension, with the conferment of the Community of Sant’Egidio, represented by Ms Valeria Martano.
Among the many reasons of the award, the commitment with which the Community promotes a culture of dialogue and living together for peace both nationally - within the Schools of Peace and among youngsters through partnership with large Muslim organisation - and internationally - with the implementation of major conferences and the involvement of representatives of the Indonesian religions in the Spirit of Assisi.
