#HUMANITARIANCORRIDORS: A NEW GROUP OF SYRIAN REFUGEES ARRIVES IN ITALY

First images

Children and teenagers from Syria, together with their families, landed at Fiumicino airport this morning. Refugees from Homs and other war-torn cities reached Italy safely and legally through the Humanitarian Corridors, which were created by Sant'Egidio along with the Federation of Evangelical Churches and the Waldensian Table. These actors also collaborated with the Foreign and Interior Ministries.

"Welcome" and "peace" are the first words of their new life in Italy. Specifically, this new beginning is represented by the olive branch they received as soon as they landed, along with the book "L'Italiano per Amico," which is a gift from the Community of Sant'Egidio to start right away on the path of integration through studying the language.

The welcome press conference will take place at 10:30 a.m. on this website and Sant'Egidio's Facebook page.
