The Community of Sant'Egidio in Uganda has a special friendship with the elderly of Kampala, especially with those persons who live in the "slums". In June, a special visit was organized in the slum of Kamwokya where the elderly received not only a visit from friends but also a medical checkup by two doctors.
It was a sign of the Community's tangible attention to the most isolated elders. Moreover, this stay was a moment of true joy for everyone, as the pictures can show it very well. The Community's service continues with regular visits to Kamwokya and other slums in the capital.
