"I offer a special greeting to the illustrious delegation from the Central African Republic and the United Nations, which in these days is in Rome for a meeting promoted by the Community of Sant'Egidio. I carry in my heart the visit I made in November 2015 in that country and I hope that, with God's help and the good will of all, the peace process, a necessary condition for development, will be fully relaunched and strengthened ".
With these words Pope Francis greeted, at the end of the Angelus, the Central African Republic representatives - both of the government, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Political Advisor of the President of the Republic, and the delegates of 13 former Seleka and Anti-Balaka military political groups, of the political parties and the national assembly – who have been meeting in Rome with the Community of Sant'Egidio and the UN special envoy for the CAR, Parfait Onanga Anyanga, to seek new ways of peace for their country.
