What if the New Year was a year of peace? More than a wish, this is our commitment

Dear user,
we celebrated Christmas by setting up a wide and inclusive nativity scene, preparing a place for Jesus and his poorest and most fragile brothers. Indeed, this is the profound meaning of the Christmas lunches with the poor, held in every part of the world. The images - which you can see in the
Christmas photo-gallery - show the beauty of this Christmas attracting thousands of people, a sign of a widespread "thirst" for good and of doing good.

A real good news we do not want to ignore, even though we know the challenges of our present time: the spread of feelings of hatred, racism, the pain that comes from the unacceptance towards the poorest (the terrible anti-Semites attacks, or the recent deaths of homeless people - due to the cold, in Europe - they remind us with particular harshness). We know that peace needs craftsmen. We cannot be satisfied with declarations, but we must invest in formation, culture and friendship.

This is why we celebrate the arrival of the new year, renewing our commitment to peace. Tomorrow, in Rome, we will go in procession to St. Peter's square, to listen to the message of Pope Francis -
you can read it here. Similar events will take place in many other places in the world.
For those who cannot be there, we will broadcast the
event live Facebook HERE
