Dear user,
Summer is coming. And with it all the time in the world. Why not invest part of this time in helping others? Even if you don’t go backpacking to a faraway country, we can still have a summer full of stories by helping those in need. We can help homeless people, children at risk of social exclusion, people with functional diversity, the elderly.
Sant’Egidio won’t stop being alongside the poor at summer: soup kitchens and help centers will remain open all summer long. Moreover, proper vacations and summer camps are organized with those we helped throughout the year. An opportunity to get out of loneliness, to meet new people and build up friendships.
Also, students from different cities will go to Africa to support humanitarian aid distributions to the populations of Malawi and Mozambique, severely hit by Cyclone Idai.

Queen Mathilde of Belgium visits the soup kitchen of Sant Egidio for the poor in Antwerp
Kamiano, the soup kitchen in Antwerp (Belgium) is 25 years old and, for this occasion, received the visit of Queen Mathilde. Welcomed by hundreds of people, volunteers, the elderly, migrants and homeless people, she lingered with them and listened to their testimonies about difficulties of life on the street, but also on the importance of receiving human support and friendship in order to find a new life path.
